Summit Girl w. Feeding Bowl and Hungry Goose MADE IN CHINA in Box

This collection of Old Japan Figurines i consider to be the best example of what Japan has contributed to the world of small and affordable music boxes. All the figurines are done in the same style and coloring, are well executed in detail and are easily recognizable. They can even be compared with Hummel's. I estimate the period they were being produced as the sixties and seventies (no markings, therefore an estimate). A great many different objects in this style were produced of which this collection gives an idea, although it is not complete by a long shot.

HOWEVER, this box is from China. Summit does not come up in any item of this sub-collection (or the Larger sub-collection) of these figurines. It may be that Summit much later obtained either the forms or the right to these collections and have them copied in exactly the same colors as the original ones, but in China, cheaper no doubt at that time. Even the box is, i believe, copied as in an older style.
Put in this sub-cllection for comparison only. And as a warning, as by now they are difficult to distinguish from the oiriginal japanese ones. Except that the bottomcover is plastic, rather than wood!!!!
