This item was made by Banthrico Inc., Chicago likely in the early seventies.
Banthrico was a maker of iron Banks, saving devices, and called themselves ' The Coin Banks People '.
The company took the Banthrico name in 1931. when a small company making these banks was taken over. In 1985 the company was taken over by Toystalgia
and the name Banthrico was dropped.
Banthrico specialised originally in making iron money-boxes for banks, who gave them away to savers and often depicting the (physical) bank.
They also sold saving banks to the consumer market, for instance as animals, cars, locomotives, etc. and yes one robot.
