The item was bought with the cord hanging out and music not working (cord did not want to retreat). The music nechanism was in a yellow plastic box plastic soldered shut. The only way to open the box was to cut it open forcibly. See photo #4.The plastic box was replaced by a clear plastic box. Also the music mechanism was fixed to the yellow plastic box with pop nails, not screws, highly unusual. The music mechanism is the one contained originally in the plastic yellow box, not changed, only it was repaired to work properly, same tune. There is no mention of ' Hummel ' on the item, however, this is a cut-out from a well known Hummel picture. Ther is no hanger on the item and there is no indication there ever was one, but still believe it was intended to hang.
