The 2 items are identical, the height difference is mostly due to the different height of the feet. But #1 has a yellow butterfly, fly #2 has no butterfly (possibly lost?). Also the construction of the black plastic base is different.
With batteries in each item 4 flowers light up intermittendly. On/off switch for lights in bottom.
Item #1 has a Sankyo Japan music mechanism, 20 teeth and the cylinfer is marked ' U M '.
Item #2 has a Toyo Japan music mechanism, 12 teeth and the cylinder is marked ' 0 3 '.
