The item has a hole in the side for an on/off switch. However, the music mechanism does not allow for a switch to be connected. Ergo, music mechanism may have been switched. Wood bottom and music mechanism go together (both 'B' on cylinder and bottom). Foot with Schmid also consistent with label on bottom. Therefore not even certain it is a Schmid produced box.
Tune, cannot name, sounds like a lullaby.
