This is a very interesting item as all the figures seem to be present. Origin may be Erzgebirge Germany? The music mechanism has 2 tunes, it stops automatically after one tune and the on/off switch needs to be pulled out and held for a moment to allow second tune to start. This feature was part of older (fifties/early sixties) Reuge or Thorens music mechanisms. Music mechanism is not accessible. Cylinder shows a (production) hole in bottom, but gives no clue. Contrary to most on/off switches, this one needs to be pushed in for music to start, pulled out to stop. In the Christmas tree 4 candles are missing (only missing items as far as can be seen). The inner platform (Tree Santa etc) is now loose. As far as can be seen there was an iron pole connecting it to lower mechanism but it is broken (how do people manage to do that?). As best as can be established that inner platform should remain in place, while the lower platform rotates around it.. Because of fracture, the upper platform rotates with lower platform and is not secured in place.
